What glues work for resin?

Got a question about techniques, materials or other aspects of physically building a model? This is the place to ask.

Superglue (cyanoacrelate) and epoxy. I have only very limited experience with the latter, and really don't care for it. A good gap
filling superglue should work for most purposes. What are you building?

thx for the info. I'm building some star wars resin kits, I don't have a lot of gluing to do on them but I wanted to know for sure what works. They're two Mon cal cruisers and a star destroyer.

If they're small, a gap-filling CA glue is fine.
If big, epoxy is better. Of course, pinning the joint is always a good idea, unless the piece is quite small.

If you can find it, the black super glue with rubber(tire glue) works great in place of epoxy for some larger parts. Pinning always helps as mentioned.

thx so much for the help, I will pick up some of this stuff for future use. For these couple models, I just used super glue as suggested. It took a while to bond but it seems to have worked, thx!

Most Hobby shops will carry something called an accelerator (Sp?) for
super-glue. It speeds the cure time of superglue considerably. One
other thing about building resin kits is to wash the parts before assembly
with warm soapy water. This will clean most mold release agents and
improve adhesion of both glue and paint.
