Salt weathering

Post by xamel1975 »

Could somebody explain to me what 'salt weathering' is and how it's done?

Thanks

The very basic essentials.

It's a means of depicting chipped or peeling paint.

Metal (or primer) color base coat.

Gloss clearcoat.

Salt and water (with a bit of dish soap) applied to wherever you want to have paint peeled.

Allow to dry.

Paint model as you normally would.

Rub away salt, revealing metal color underneath.
Raised by wolves, tamed by nuns, padded for your protection.
