Just saw this at Mouser. Not sure about price but 250 lumens is about equivalent to a 250 watt incandesant bulb.

Actually a typical 100w incandecent bulb is about 1700 lumens.

This is 330 lumens, about a 20w bulb.

Now now,...

Didn't we find that my 3 watt LED(80 lumens), by Luxeon, shot the PCB stock heat sink up to 114.9 degrees farenheight in less than a minute? At which point my thermometer read out went to ---.- and decided it didn't want to play any more.

Owch. Over 115 deg in just a minute? How much current were you running? My thermal buddy at work told me you need about 1 square inch of radiating surface per watt of heat output.

That was the LED on the stock PCB with no heat sink.

I wouldn't run it that way in application. :wink:
