Just what it implies.

Mark Yungblut Has Passed

Post by onezero »

Mark Yungblut -a good friend, generous teacher and stalwart of Wonderfest for .... ever - passed away last night, June 21st 2020. Apparently, the chemo did a great job on his cancer but unfortunately, his kidneys as well. That's all I know at the moment - I will share more as I learn it. Please keep Lisa and Alex in your thoughts.

I will sorely miss you, brother.

Met Mark on my visits to Wonderfest when I was able to get over. A real gentleman and knowledgeable modeller. Got to his clinics with Terry M a couple of times. Good times.

Thoughts with his family and his extended Modelling Mates family.

This is heartbreaking news. I just talked to him about six weeks ago too.

I didn't know him well, and our paths didn't cross much, but it is easy to see the quality of his character by the quality of his friends.
My condolences to his family and friends.

It wasn't WonderFest until I could sit down and chat with him for a few minutes, or just sit back and listen to him talk about one of his latest builds.

Godspeed, Mark, and I'll see you on the other side someday.

WOW! I know that it's been a lifetime since I saw this forum last but quite a few things have changed in my personal life as well as professional. I really haven't devoted a lot of time to the forums but I hoped to come back since I have been saving up quite a few models for my collection. Mark was a real human being - I enjoyed a lot of his witticism and insight. He was usually one of the first people to tell you the honest truth without being biased. Not only is this sad but depressing news!! I didn't know that he had cancer again. I know in a private message that he said that he had it before but beat it. I didn't think that the next time I heard about him that he would be dead. It's already sad to hear about Carrie FIsher, and her mother dying but there have been quite a few in the industry to die as of late. It's even harder when it's someone that you know personally! :( :( :( :(
REST IN PEACE BROTHER! I hope that you get your wings in HEAVEN.

For those who never got to meet Mark, I feel sorta sorry for you. He was a great guy, always willing to share and even teach, as John mentioned above. He and Terry / "TER-OR" used to run demo's at WonderFest, and they were always well received and often packed to the point of SRO. Straight shooter and "Noise Nazi" (WonderFest joke about Mark from the old Pool Party days).

The world is a little darker w/o him in it. :(
