All your bases...need building

Got a question about techniques, materials or other aspects of physically building a model? This is the place to ask.

All your bases...need building

With my Anigrand Star Destroyer nearing completion, I got some acrylic rod to use for the display stand. The question is, how?

I am not putting holes in this girl. I'm thinking of having the rod support the model, but not sure how to cut the rod at the proper angle so the SD sits right.

Plus any tips on what to do to protect the finish of the kit?
Thanks

I use a dob of clear silicone on the ends. It means your angles don't have to be 100% accurate and gives the model a bit of a pad to rest on.

Thanks Kylwell. What type or brand of silicone do you use?
