Does anyone make half-square strip?

Does anyone make plastic half-square strip? I've checked Evergreen and Plastruct and can't find any. Basically it would be a triangle, but with two of the three angles at a 90 degree angle.

Engine glow/throb, with a blue LED or combination of LEDs. I found a site that had simple enough plans to do the other lights I need, instruments and all, but the plans they had for the engines seem too repetative, looking more like a strobe than flickering.

One was a ultra bright blue LED with a 470 ohm resister. The other will have three blinking LED's, two blue and one white, I believe. I'm trying to get sort of a flickering effect with the latter, but I may be barking up the wrong tree on that one.

Heat generated by LED's?

I'm looking at doing my first model lighting job and am concerned about heat buildup melting the model. I'm looking at one rig with three LED's, another with one, both with their own 9V batteries. Both I believe will be completely enclosed on the plastic of the model. Any need to worry, or should I ...

How durable is it? Can it take getting knocked around a little without denting, or is it thin?

Not a scale really. I envisioned the "loops" being maybe a little smaller than a toothpick. Aluminum would be ideal, if it was big enough.

Sorry, I need some larger pieces, maybe 6" square, and a few of them at that. I'm trying to replicate barn roofing. It's not for a "model", nor will it be owned by modelers who know how to handle a "model" with care, so it'll have to be something durable. I was hoping someon...

Source for "scale" corrugated roofing

I'm working on a non-modeling project, and am in need of some "scale" corrugated sheet metal roofing. All I've found online so far is more grooved than a true stamped corrugation. Any sources anyone knows of?

I've read you have to bake out all the moisture or you'll have that problem. Doesn't sound like fun at all! I'm going to order some wood here soon and start carving another master, then press on from there. I really need to get this moving, whether the Russians are able to use it or not. If nothing ...

The pilot I'm in daily contact with is good friends with Mr. Rutskoi. Some of the pilots and I discussed the issue, and we'd hoped someone could get the design bureau to donate the model but we never had any luck. I figured they'd have things like that just lying around or could make one quite easil...

I don't have the facilities to even try melting aluminum. I'd have to ask around town and see if anyone would be willing to make the pour for me. I really don't have the funds to have this professionally done. I'd hoped the aviation community would have jumped in and helped with this. The whole proj...

Interesting... It's similar to what I'd started, but the tools I had over there were so crude. A table saw was about all I had that was usable for the project, that and a vibra-sander. I'd already been making wooden model planes and helos for the kids outside the wire so I had a decent routine down....

Looks like it'll be 1/32 scale. When I initially planned the job I based my dimensions on the distance between the nozzles, then adjusted based on the wood I'd found. I figured it was within half an inch of the original size. If I start over again and go with 1/32 scale it'll be about 3 inches longe...

After some reconsideration I think I'm going to start all over with this project. The size of the model I'd begun carving was based on the best, largest piece of wood I could find over in Afghanistan. Had I been allowed to continue I would have finished the model in a couple of weeks and it would ha...

Wood is definitely a better medium for me to work with anyway. I've just never had any luck getting my molds separated when I've tried two part plaster molds. I'm trying to make a sacrificial master. The sand creates the mold around the foam master. When the molten aluminum is pour in it melts and displaces the foam, creating an aluminum copy. Building a solid aluminum model aircraft

I've got an odd project I'm kicking around, and that's how to make a large scale, about 1/24 scale, model airplane out of aluminum. My father suggested lost wax. Recently I saw a movie clip online where a guy used plain Styrofoam and sand to cast his own aluminum gun parts. It looked pretty simply. ...

Cleaning up uncured silicone- Goof Off

For larger silicone pour projects I've got a set of plastic bowls I use. The only problem is getting the bowls clean afterwards. I use MicroMark 1:1. Anyway tonight I decided to try Goo Off, a product I picked up at Home Depot, and it worked great! Cleaned the white a blue goo right out of the bowls!
