Ken,
A small piece broke off an old butter dish. It was my wife's grandmothers.
The area is about 1/2 inch and it broke into about 6 pieces.
I'll look into the gel super glue.
Do you think epoxy will be good for this?
Mike.

Best glue for repairing ceramics?
This isn't model related but I figure someone here will know.
Does anyone know what's the best glue for repairing ceramics?
I'm thinking 5 minute epoxy should be good.
Any ideas?

Polly Scale Louisville & Nashville Gray?
Has anyone used Polly Scale Louisville & Nashville Gray?
Does it have a green tint?
I'm thinking it might be a good color for a Star Trek original series Enterprise.

I've read that lacquer can go over acrylic paint. Can acrylic paint(specifically Polly Scale acrylic) be painted over lacquer or rather synthetic lacquer(i.e. Gunze synthetic lacquer)? BTW, I'll be hand painting this. I'm not sure when hand painting straight from a bottle, if the paints react differ...

I'm also looking at the Iwata Smart Jet and Power Jet Pro. I keep reading good things about the Iwata Compressors. Does anyone have any thoughts on any of these 2 compressors? I have the Smart Jet and i love it. Its pretty quiet and easy to use. I'm thinking the Power Jet Pro may be overkill for pa...

Floquil/Polly Scale 'Concrete' for TOS Enterprise?
Has anyone used either Floquil or Polly Scale's Concrete color?
I'm thinking of using this color for a TOS Enterprise and am curious what it looks like on a model.
Is it a warm or cool color?
Is there any hint of green in the color?

I use a D3000R and I'm very happy with it. It's quiet and reliable. Did you get the D3000R more recently? The reason I ask is that Paasche was making the compressors in the US until a few years ago. I'm curious which one you have. Is this the one you have in the link below? http://i198.photobucket....

Looking to buy a new air compressor...
I'm in the market for a compressor and am looking at the Paasche D3000R. A friend also recommended the Iwata Smart Jet. Both of these are very similar except the Paasche D3000R has a tank. Does anyone have the Paasche D3000R? Is this a quiet compressor? Are the Iwata compressors worth the extra mone...

Thanks Harry! It almost looks like a very fine 'orange' peel in a few spots but not too severe. I just want to make sure the decals set down correctly. I'm not worried about removing the underlying paint since I used Testors Acryl. You could soak a part painted with Acryl in Windex for a week and th...

Future floor polish's sheen? Advice needed?!
I applied Future for the 1st time. It seemed to spray perfectly through my Paasche VLS airbrush. It looks glossy but not like a sheet of glass. Is this how it should look? Should I have thinned it? If I need to clean it off and start over, will Windex clean it off? I used Testors MM Acryl paint and ...

This is for a TOS Enterprise. That may have been a mistake in the book with the XF-11 JN Green. In the article Paul Newitt wrote regarding the TOS Enterprise's color on CultTVMan's site he recommends XF-12 JN Grey with some white added. I tested XF-12 JN Grey with some white and it looks great. Howe...

Are Tamiya XF-12 J.N. Grey(acrylic) and Tamiya AS-29 Gray-Green IJN(spray can) basically the same color?

Yes, you can mix Tamiya with Gunze or vice versa with no issues. You can also thin either of them with lacquer thinner if you're so inclined. When Tamiya is mixed with lacquer thinner does it then behave more like lacquer? Can Testors Acryl be applied over Tamiya that was mixed with lacquer thinner?

Yes, you can mix Tamiya with Gunze or vice versa with no issues. You can also thin either of them with lacquer thinner if you're so inclined. I've layered acrylic on acylic with just about every type paint imaginable without issues. Thanks! I just figured I can seal the Tamiya with Testors Acryl. T...

Yes, I put layers of different acrylic paints over each other all the time. Gunze and Tamiya can be mixed, but neither can mix with Acryl. You may want to put a thin clear coat between layers if you're masking. Future works great for this. By mixing do you mean Gunze and Tamiya can be mixed wet? I'...

Testors Acryl paint over Tamiya acrylic...Does this work?
A friend of mine suggested using Testors Acryl instead of Tamiya acrylic paint. He likes how durable Testors Acyl is. The problem is I was going to use Tamiya XF-12 JN Grey on a TOS Enterprise since it's a match to the WalMart 'Concrete' color sample that is mentioned in Paul Newitt's article: What ...

Looks good so far. I like what you did witht he bottom of the primary hull. Yeah, I've built so many of the 1/537, towards the end i would just toss the instructions and go from memory. So you can imagine what a dream it was when I built a refit that I needed instructions for! Even though ti's the ...

Round 2 said that the tooling for the 1/537 refit was basically ruined when the paneling was added. If they re-release the 1/537 refit it will most likely be the version with the paneling. It would be too costly to fix it. I would like to see a new tool made, basically a scaled down version of the ...
