A small piece broke off an old butter dish. It was my wife's grandmothers.

The area is about 1/2 inch and it broke into about 6 pieces.

I'll look into the gel super glue.

Do you think epoxy will be good for this?

Does anyone know what's the best glue for repairing ceramics?

I'm thinking 5 minute epoxy should be good.

Thanks for the quick reply. I won't be thinning the lacquer. I need it to be thick so that's not a problem.

I've read that lacquer can go over acrylic paint. Can acrylic paint(specifically Polly Scale acrylic) be painted over lacquer or rather synthetic lacquer(i.e. Gunze synthetic lacquer)? Has anyone used either Floquil or Polly Scale's Concrete color?

I'm thinking of using this color for a TOS Enterprise and am curious what it looks like on a model.

Is it a warm or cool color?

Is there any hint of green in the color?

Are these the decals from the Round 2 re-issue kit that are giving the problems?

I use a D3000R and I'm very happy with it. It's quiet and reliable. Did you get the D3000R more recently? The reason I ask is that Paasche was making the compressors in the US until a few years ago. Did you paint a TOS Enterprise with the Tamiya XF-12 JN Gray mix? Any pictures?

The Testors Model Master mix Paul recommended is the enamel paints. There is no Sac Bomber green in the Acryl paints. I want to use either acrylic or synthetic lacquer.

If I do use the Tamiya JN Gray I'll just go over it with Acryl clear. I tested this on a small part and it works.

AS-29/XF-76 Gray Green being lighter then XF-12 JN Grey is a good thing since it's a bit too dark compared to the WalMart "Concrete" color sample. XF-12 JN Grey is also a bit too green.

Yes, you can mix Tamiya with Gunze or vice versa with no issues. You can also thin either of them with lacquer thinner if you're so inclined. When Tamiya is mixed with lacquer thinner does it then behave more like lacquer? Can Testors Acryl be applied over Tamiya that was mixed with lacquer thinner?

Yes, I put layers of different acrylic paints over each other all the time. Gunze and Tamiya can be mixed, but neither can mix with Acryl. I'm going to try this. I painted some Tamiya acrylic on scrap plastic last night and am waiting for it to fully cure before I apply the clear Testors Acryl on top.
