This is the kind of look that I'm talking about. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v728/facehugger804/MwFront.jpg I was almost totally fooled by this at first. That pic actually looks like they used a vynil mask. Look how the back edge of the front window is slightly "peeled" up? Or is th...

How long ago did you put the decals down? In other words, they are supposed to wrinkle up, then settle down as they dry and cure, if you're using the Microsol. If they are dry and still wrinkled, and you have not sealed them with a gloss/flat coat, try re-applying some microsol and see if you can la...

Sometimes a modeler has to prime the kit to find flaws. Once they do, then fix them, sometimes you can just strip the primer off and keep building. Like you said, it could all be up to the model. If you have too many fine details, then you can't prime. Once I primed a kit 6 times before I painted.

I ordered one of these little black bottles for $12, and I got to say it was one of the worst experiences of my life. It never went where I wanted, I had to SQUEEZE hard as I could for it to even flow, and when it did, SPLAT. I got it everywhere (and I'm careful) and it really wasn't what it was hyp...

Multiple pots on one compressor?

Say you have about 3 or 4 2.5 pressure pots from Harbor frieght. Can you run all of them off of one compressor at the same time and maintain a constant pressure? I'm thinking about picking this one up for the job. And how would I hook up multiple hoses for the pots? Can't seem to find an adaptor... ...

I once used those snap pops (those little white wads of explosives, you throw them at your wife-I mean, the ground and POP!) to simulate a small strike or scorch mark. I held the snap pop against the model, and smashed it with a butterknife until it popped.

Hate it. Never had good results. End up peeling leetle tiny shards off the model.
Usually a pencil eraser will help that.

Orange peel usually occurs due to the temperature being too cold or the paint mix too thick. Try putting the can in a bowl of warm water. This will help to thin the viscosity of the paint. Is it genuine orange peel or a bobbly finish? And NEVER NEVER NEVER put it on the stove and forget about it! :...

Believe it or not, I've known someone to use Cool whip. Is it airtight? If it is, put a little more cool Whip in there than what you want, put your "mystery fluid" in, and wait. The cool whip will dry out, shrink a bit, and then look like beer foam. Just keep it out of direct sunkight. It'...
