Like Ziz says, watch the distortion when you pull it off. I suggest putting the whole part + clay in the freezer before you do, unless there's an undercut.

If you want something like this, try this: Go to the Goodwill/thrift store, and buy any lamp. This is the threaded pipe that holds the shade on the base.

If not, Gooooooooooooogle "threaded pipe".

Hope this helps, and show some pics of what you're working on! :D

If you're sure it's CA glue, try this: pop the whole thing in the freezer overnight. The next day, try to "pop" the parts apart, start easy at first. The CA should be brittle enough to break apart at the seams, and lezve the plastic/resin alone. Of course, that all depends on how much CA i...

Step 2: Pay an ungodly low price for an older PC with Win98/Me/XP on it.

Ash, it would help to know where you lived so we can give you an informed answer. Without that, I can only recommend, Hobby Lobby, Michael's, Pat Catan's, or I've even seen them in some Wal-Marts and Teacher's supply stores. Also, do you need it oval or rectangular? If you can't find them locally(an...

Yes. Smooth-On has a product that advertises that method. A few people have tried it, and found not really suitable for modeling parts, more like busts and low-detail figurines.

I've been slushcasting these... Basically I've been pouring some resin in the mold, closing it up, and turning the whole mold SLOWLYaround in my hands like a Rubik's cube. I have to do this until I have the time to build my own rotocaster. Side view.

Helpful tip if you're single: When you go into Michael's/etc. ask a lady where the floral stemware is. When they take you to the aisle, most likely they'll ask you what you need it for. Make up something sweet like, "Oh, it's my (insert name here) birthday and I want to make her something speci...

Floral stemware can be bought at Michael's, Hobby Lobby, Pat catan's, and some Wal-mart's. Pretty much any craft stores. And it's like 2-3 bucks for ten or twelve 12" rods on average.

Dave, it doesn't look like too much of a problem. It's all in the angle you put your master part in. It should NOT be vertical when you pour rub...
