Re: vac forming?
Plans: There are more plans available on the net alone than there are people who have built vac-forms. So, you can pick and choose the features you want/need/can afford. Just google search "vacuum former plans". Bucks: Female bucks (molds) are always better. But are harder to use. And in ...

Re: CAD/CAM Two Questions
Just curious what other scratch-builders are thinking. As you said, in many cases, the tool becomes the hobby. So... Unless you plan on a high volume for a particle tool, it's my opinion, you should simply out-source. There are many money saving reasons for this. Sure, you can make the parts cheape...

Cool.
I would like to lay claim to the Octaginta Novem, if I could.
I could easily build another one, of course. And I am in the process of scratching a 1/32 version (the current one is 1/72). I may send the 1/32 to Blap as well to paint. I never seem to get to the painting.

Fate of the finished models??
With the end nearing of this little adventure... It crossed my mind as to what will happen to the models after we are done, and WonderFest is all wrapped up. I don't remember what happened with those from the first round.
So??
So??

Re: Nacells and pylons
Anyone ever have any trouble with keeping the pylons and nacelles at the proper angle? Just curious. Nope. I just leave them unattached and in the box. Never had any sagging or alignment issues. :P What Ziz said. :) In some cases with nacelles, you may need to add some weight to the front/back to h...

It's here, it's here. YAY!!! \:D/ Yes the sound you heard was the fin breaking off. Good thing you threw in spares. Dang! Oh well. Shipping built (or partially built) kits, that's the hazard. Hopefully the old one will pop back on. But yeah, there are extras. Do you happen to have a piece of metal ...

Does that ever look Sharp! Thanks. I like the design so much, I will build another for myself. And, I have begun the process to build one in 1/32 (the current one works out to 1/72). I said that earlier in the thread. I need a 1/32 Tornado, they make those, yay!! I need a 3/64 P-38. They make a 1/1...

OK, got it sent off to Mottom today. So very sorry for the delay. Although, I am sure something broke as I was closing up the box. :( It was wrapped all nice and safe, but... I distinctly heard that horrible sound of a joint letting go. Oh well, that's what glue is for. :D The wing (fin?) tip looks ...

um they're launching from those rigs. they do land on the aircraft carrier part though. Ah, yes. I meant to post an image of the trapeze system they used for the X-85 and some F-84s. Talk about hooking up!! Or it's the obvious one way trip. Trips are never one way, it's just that you...

So, I didn't get the 747 wing attached. :( But, I did get the new cockpit set, and fared in pretty well to the old cockpit. The tip-tanks are installed, pins on the 747 wing in place, as well as the belly of the beast drilled, filled with apoxie, and the pins pushed in (and removed) to make the moun...

Oh I have colour ideas. For me modeling is ALL about the painting these days. And for me it been all about the design ascetics of the shape and details. I haven't been getting to the painting part lately. I need to work on that. Metal pins and the like so I don't have to fix stuff that starts flyin...

I haven't got as much done as I want yet. Again. You can see bits of a Airfix 1/72 Tornado being chopped (you can see where I will cut the upper fuselage) up to make a new cockpit. It will sit atop the main extended fuselage, blending into the glass of the P-38. The bottom half turned upside down, a...
