I used to use the band saw for beveled cuts, but got the little chop saw, Kywell has linked, and cut tubing using an abrasive disc. I still use a tubing cutter , the inside diameter of the tube will be crimped a little by this. However I just clean it out with an Xacto, a deburring tool , or a pipe ...

Unless you have fiberglassed the exterior of the shell, the structure will probably not hold up well with the frames removed. It may collapse. If you begin to remove the interior frames, do not grind them out all the way to the hull. Leave at least 3/16" to 1/4" of the frame against the hu...

If the bubbles are near your master or the surface of your piece, the RTV may not be enough to contain the bubble once it is returned to normal pressure. For pin size bubbles not a problem, but larger bubbles may pop, and you would get a small nodule on your casting where this happens.

I am guessing, but I think your air brush compressor would not move enough air... The venturi piece needs 4.2 CFM to pull the vacuum. Your airbrush compressor would have to have a pretty big tank resevoir. I used to just pour thing layers to start out with, and get the masters coated, then slowly fi...

The metal reinforcement rod does not have to go from the base, all the way to the muzzle end.. That little bit should be able to support itself.

So the barrel length can be fully reinforced, and the muzzle would be just beyond the end of the wire or rod.

Drill the back of your master, and place a 1/16" or 3/32" wire into the hole, and allow it to stick out about a half inch. When you make your mold, and pull out the master, there will be a nice 1/2" groove at the back to place a 2-1/2" - 3" long wire. It will sit nicely in t...

NOVUS brand plastic polishes and cleaners do a great job.
There are three levels;
The #1 I equit to armor all...
the #2 has a fine grit to polish out fine scrathes.
The #3 can help polish out heavy scratches.

working from 3 to 1 can take a scratched canopy from frosted to clear.
