Klingon Destroyer

By John Lester

This is one of the Ravenstar 1/2500 Klingon ships - not sure which one, as I got it and a few others in a trade. It was encrusted in several layers of Wal-Mart spray paint, along with tons of lint and cat hairs. I stripped the paint by soaking it in Pine-Sol for a day, then scrubbing the stubborn bits off with an old toothbrush. I primed it with grey paint, filled a bunch of pinholes this revealed, then started painting for real. I used a number of different greens - whatever I was airbrushing at the time (this model sat next to the paint table for several months collecting green paint). Most of the basecoat is Testors' Interior Green, but there's Olive Drab, Irtalian Olive, and British Interior Green there as well.

Satisfied with the base coat, I then used this as something on which to experiment with washes and drybrushing. All the other colors are from the Gunze and Tamiya acrylic lines.
