Scale: Not Stated During the Rebellion, the Rebels created many variations of their basic warfighting vehicles. Rouge Squadron had some of the most imaginative, creating various hybrid craft for specific missions. One such variation were the armed recon craft called "snoop-scoots", used for pre-attack surveillance and post attack damage assessment. Operating singly or with fighter escort, these ships are loaded with sensors. Rebel engineers have boosted the power of the engines and incorporated prototype etheric-rudder technology, eliminating the need for attitude thrusters. This allows the ships greater maneuverability than standard X-Wings, requiring pilots of species that can handle greater stress. Since these ships have neither the energy-generating capability, or room for equipment, for energy weapons, they were equipped with four hard-mounted, rapid-fire projectile weapons known as "rip-stichers". Though antiquated, these are particularly effective against Imperial ships, whose shields are based on deflecting or absorbing strikes from energy weapons and ineffective against this type of weapon. |
