Scale: Not Stated In the final battle of THE FOREVER WAR, the UNEF cruiser Masaryk II deployed fighters and drones to attack the Tauran cruiser at SADE 138. The fighters launched missiles and nova bombs from enclosed bays. These fighters were also used to shuttle troops to the planet surface. My model of this fighter/shuttle is loosely based on the artwork in the graphic novel by Marvano. It is a little over 7" long by 7" wide. The body of the fighter was carved out of a block of resin that I poured up in the basic shape I wanted. Epoxy putty-covered styrene wings were added, along with epoxy putty engine housings. The engines themselves were from 1/144th and 1/200th scale Saturn V kits. Small airscoops and hatches came from other kits. Thrust vectoring nozzles were drilled around all three axies. The body was painted with Krylon oyster grey paint. Windows were drilled out, painted, filled with clear epoxy glue one at a time, and allowed to cure. Panel lines were drawn in with pencil, and decals came from various ship and aircraft sheets. Weathering is mostly chalk and pencil. Steel and aluminum wire was used to detail the engine area.
